In 2011, along with Jacek Mrowczyk, I co-edited this anthology of the most important essays on design. As there were very few books on the matter at the time, we wanted to acquaint Polish professionals and students with the critical texts in design history. There are essays by such classics as Laszlo Moholy-Nagy, Jan Tschichold, or Massimo Vignelli. There are also many vital inputs by contemporary authors writing in the field. The book was a huge success and is widely regarded by many as a must-read. The cover design plays with the fact that Polish words ‘to see’ – ‘widzieć,’ and ‘to know’ – ‘wiedzieć,’ differ by one letter only, one that is not printed but embossed instead. Two colors inside contrast with one color of the uncoated paper of the cover.
