In 2017 I was invited to design a poetry volume series by a biannual poetry festival held in Gdansk, Poland. The authors come from all over Europe, every publication is bilingual, and the covers were meant to be bilingual too. I knew from the beginning that I wanted the design to be quite uniform and toned down; when it comes to poetry, you should tread carefully, as not to interfere with such a delicate matter. I wanted the design to be as abstract as possible. It turned out, though, that I did not manage to escape some obvious associations. I am glad that none of the covers stood out and that they went well with each other. The uncoated paper dust-jacket and muted colors were my means of creating this intimate environment for the reader of these books.
